If you have experience with relational databases, you will be familiar with the concept of relationships. Traditionally, data is separated into different tables, and keys are used to create relationships between these tables, allowing their data to be joined using SQL. For example, an employee s payroll advice data might be stored in a separate table called payslips, and this table would have a reference column that indicates which employee it is stored for.
